Although I received extensive training in undergraduate school for lesson planning, I never experienced planning such as what I experienced this year. Daily doubles, although nerve racking at times, are helpful. They help the teacher really focus on every aspect of the lesson the wish to deliver to their students. Above is a picture of a lesson I planned and taught at the beginning of the school year. Next to it are two of the many comments my mentor gave to me. The link to view the lesson plan, in detail, is below.

FALL LESSON PLAN
In critiquing myself, in the fall, I feel that I did not fully think my lessons through. I feel this is an honest mistake that many new teachers make. I would often miss small, key steps that were necessary for the students to take in order to fully understand the lesson. |
SPRING LESSON PLAN
When planning this lesson, I felt more confident and comfortable in
the writing the steps, organizing what the students were doing, and
making sure everything was well thought out. With the first lesson, I did
not feel as if I had full captured everthing. With this lesson, and math is a weakness
for me, I felt like a strong teacher who was capable of delivering correct content to
her students.
