Throughout my time in this program, one of the skills
I have worked to master is explicit directions. Below are two
separate lists from observations while I was at Harvard.
The first picture, below, is a picture of me during
a math lesson at Tarkington.
In this video, I am monitoring the students as the write their word wall words
as man times as they can. When they finish, they are to erase their slate and start all over again.
My co-resident is shooting the video, and the substitute teacher is also present in the room.
I am looking forward to having m own classroom in August. As I reflect on m time in
the program, I will take all I have learned and apply it to every aspect of m classroom. This will
include but not be limited to explicit directions, do it again, no opt out, sweating the small stuff,
no nonsense nurturer, and more.
